On 29 October 2026, the Dracula Land team sent the press an update on the project in Gherghita, Prahova. The main message: the masterplan for the first major phase is complete, talks with future operators have reached an advanced stage, and the project is now in preparation for construction. Almost a year after the official presentation in December 2025, this is the most detailed update so far on how the park is progressing.

Below is a short summary of what was announced, with links to the sources, and what it means for anyone planning to visit.

Cazare Dracula Land is an independent website with no official connection to Dracula Land or its developers. The information below comes from the project's press release, published by several outlets on 29 October 2026.

In short: what was announced

  • The first-phase masterplan is finished. It brings the theme park, arena, aqua park, outlet and hotels together in a single plan.
  • Talks with operators are advanced in every category: theme park, arena, hospitality and retail. Partner names have not been made public.
  • 100% private funding, with no public or EU money. The first phase could exceed EUR 1 billion.
  • A holding structure registered in Qatar, set up for international co-investment.
  • The site covers 164 hectares, held by a single ownership structure.
  • Preparation for construction is under way, but the release gives no construction start date and no opening date.

What the first phase includes

According to the press release, the masterplan for the first major phase includes:

  • a theme park with immersive zones and dozens of major attractions;
  • a multi-purpose arena with 22,500 seats;
  • an Aqua Park & Spa with dozens of water attractions;
  • an outlet with international brands;
  • three themed hotels with 1,200 rooms in total.

All of these will share common systems: internal roads, parking, green spaces and utility networks. The developers say roads and utilities were designed to be delivered in stages, and call this one of the most complex parts of the masterplan.

Compared with the December 2025 presentation, the headline figures are the same. The site area is now given as 164 hectares, against about 160 hectares originally. The racing circuit and the business hub are not mentioned in the release as part of the first phase. For a full description of the project, see our guide to Dracula Land.

Partners, investors and funding

The Dracula Land team says it is in talks with international operators, investment funds and private investors, and that partner selection remains open, but only to those who share the project's long-term vision. The project also attended IAAPA, the largest international association of the amusement park industry, where it expanded its partner network.

Founder Dragos Dobrescu summed up the current stage: the most important work on a large project is done before the first machine arrives on site.

The project will be built in several phases, with capital allocated step by step. Each part (the park, arena, aqua park, hotels and outlet) has its own business model and revenue.

Own brand and a digital side

Dracula Land is built on its own intellectual property, not a licensed franchise. The developers say they are protecting the brand in Europe and the United States and are preparing licensing, merchandise and a digital ecosystem that includes a metaverse component.

What has not been announced yet

The press release does not state:

  • the construction start date;
  • the park's opening date;
  • the status of permits (zoning plan and building permit);
  • the names of the operators and investors in negotiation;
  • ticket prices.

Earlier materials mentioned an opening in 2027, but the October 2026 release does not repeat that date. For now, the fairest way to see Dracula Land is as a project in the planning and financing stage, not an active construction site.

What it means for visitors

  • No tickets are on sale. Any ticket offer for Dracula Land you see now does not come from the project. Follow only the official channels at draculaland.com.
  • The area is worth visiting already. Gherghita is about 20 minutes from Bucharest and 15 minutes from Henri Coanda Airport, next to the A3 motorway. Snagov Monastery, linked by tradition to the tomb of Vlad the Impaler, is about 15 minutes away. See also how to get to Dracula Land.
  • We will keep you posted. We update the blog whenever new official information about construction or the opening date is published.
